The 3DS will clearly fall short of that, because Nintendo isn't putting out the software that is needed for such sales levels. And since the Wii U launch will be interfering, Nintendo's focus is going to shift too soon to make the 3DS a monster like the DS.

However, just because Nintendo can't match the DS performance in the foreseeable future doesn't mean that they can't outdo the DS later on in the lifecycle. It all depends on Nintendo's commitment to the platform in the coming years.

Well... what software should Nintendo put out this year to reach those levels?
