As for the topic, it's already been explained that this isn't really groundbreaking stuff, as many DVD upconverters are cheap, and the 360 does a fair amount of upscaling from what I know. It's a great thing for PS3 owners, and yet another plus for the system, but I dunno what else to say...it's just an update. |

*sigh* Sony never wins. Upscaling games and DVDs, improves blu-ray playback (already was one of the best blu-ray players, not that buyers care about quality apparently), remote play from any wifi location (w/ PSP), streaming media files, and the ability to change gave saves back to the PS2 (useful for backups that don't play on the PS3). It also makes the PS3 a better DVD player than the 360 and a lot of expensive retail DVD players.
That's more than "just an update." Come on...
sieanr, I look forward to your pictures because I'm seeing a lot of good examples so far. I'm going to try some games out tomorrow, so I'll see for myself (I can only do 720p, though). I would expect the smoother to work for games even at 480i/p, though.
