Yeah I like it as a stylish base for the box design, but Nintendo wouldn't do something like that... Besides your mentioned issue there would also need to be two different kinds of box for games with/without online features (because the NiNet* logo is a relief in the plastic)

Also while I like the more unique feature of having the logo bar down the left side, (I do like the PS3 boxes) on a normal DVD shaped case this limits the horizontal space for the individual boxarts. In some cases this would make for some nice designs, but in general designers would want the more traditional ratio.

 

Also, lol @ the Aliens thing, I was gonna ask if you shopped the image of the crew onto the Alien head as it's nicely done.
