There's a lot of fat that can be trimmed, because the output of certain studios has never been particularly good from a quality perspective and neither did these games sell (or they did at one point, but not anymore). You may not know about these games, because they usually don't show up on the list of hyped exclusives. But Sony still has to pay the people who makes these games. Getting rid of them would free up a lot of money that could be spent elsewhere.
