I'm not really sure what KylieDog is trying to say.
Maybe I wasn't clear with "old" Final Fantasy, since I included 7, 8 and 9.

Even if FF7 had a lot of cutscenes, the more text oriented story was still the thing that was driving the overall game, and FF7 never tried to be an action western-ish game.
