From this picture, it appears that you might not even need HDTVs to notice the differences (kinda like PS3 games still look fantastic on SDTV, but no matter how many times I say that no one seems to believe me...as if I'm making this up to make myself feel better for not having HDTV). Won't be upscaled but it could be sharpened, similar to how the PS2 sharpened and had faster loadtimes for PS1 games.
