I don't know whether I should be surprised by the poll results.
It was DOA in Japan, but that is because it needs a system seller, wait for a portable, high profile JRPG and a Monster Hunter game and it will sell like crazy.
As for the West, I definitely don't think it will be DOA. The lack of advertising will hurt sales, but I definitely see it being successful in the long run, almost all of my friends are planning to get one, even the hardcore Xbox 360 fanboys.
