Actually even if you look at software total the only reason Wii might keep the lead till the end of the gen is that every Wii sold out of Japan was bundled with one and then two games...
Right now VGChartz has the following :
Wii : 774 millions
Xbox : 608 millions
PS3 : 516 millions
Remove bundled software and the 360-Wii gap is probably around 100 millions or less.
if you look at the latest fiscal in 2011 PS3 shipped about 50 millions units more of software than the Wii and 360 numbers can't be far off the PS3 so the 360 has a legitimate shot at catching up with the Wii...
PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !
PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
