via USB are compatible. In addition, users will find a new type of slideshow for
displaying photos, zoom functionality and the option to crop images.

Ah hah.  I've been wanting to be able to transfer my game saves back to the PS2 with a memory card.  Now I can download saves right to my PS3 and then put them on my PS2 without using my outdated gameshark.
