Not feeling Jaffe on this one. For me a game like Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, Final Fantasy, or Heavy Rain out does any other story telling medium. No other form of art can put a person in the story, and have them experience the artists vision like games. Movies throw flashy stuff on screen that can be over looked because there is no interaction and lack depth due to time constraints , books allow your mind to see a very different world than the author wanted, a song or a picture is to open to limited leaving them to interpretation.

Saying gameplay is important is no revelation either. No matter what type of game you set out to make that is what makes gaming, gaming. However, I think people loose sight of what gameplay is. Yes, it is good responsiveness, yes, it should be enjoyable, but it is also a lot more more.

My two favorite gmaeplay experiences this generation have been the Jeff the camera man section in Uncharted 2, and the radiation hall in MGS4. These were two great examples of Story, Music, atmosphere, level design, and gameplay gelling into IMO the best entertainment experience in any medium.

I think the industry needs to keep a good balance of extream story drivin games and simple fun games. Having Uncharted, Gears, Killzone, and Heavy Rain on one side, and Pixel Junk, Mario, and Flower on the other has been perfect.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
