He complains about the Vita price and then compares it to $500-$1000 dollar phones.

To be fair, most people get phones with plans and usually that makes the phones priced at $50-200.

With a plan that REQUIRES $30 a month be spent on 3g for 2 years, which is $720.  This is fine for most people, because they want the 3g anyways, but for those of us who don't particularly feel like purchasing 3g, the phone winds up being perhaps a $100 initial investment with $720 spent on 3g you didn't particularly want costing you $820.  Or you could purchase the phone without a contract for about $600.  Regardless, not even close to the same price range as the Vita.
