Actually the serious problems of Italy are not about disposable income, the problems are mostly about the unbearable welfare system and the difficulties for young people to get their first job (good job that isn't a minimum wage job), and tax evasion (easy tax loopholes).

Sound about like the USA. Just need to throw in a currency that is becoming worthless, massive debt, out of control health care costs, and worthless politicians/parties.
