One thing to note: the 3ds still expensive for a handheld. When ds launched it was expensive for a handheld at $150. The only reason Ninty got away with that is because their competitor released a handheld at $250. This 'price cut' enables the the 3ds to look like a steal with no competitors on the market, but it's really not.
Yeah, I remember when good old days when Gba would launched at $99. It's sad now :(
