Even in MW2 there was kind of a flow to the game, with stand-offs, heavy fighting zones and lulls in the action. It was possible to camp on one side of the map and force the enemy to take a different route to you, because the one straight down the middle would get them killed. (This obviously excludes Rust, which was a joke.)
Due to the map design and spawning system in MW3 the game has changed somewhat. Pot luck can have you dying up to four times in quick succession, or it can have you literally spawning on top of a group of enemies with their backs turned for easy kills. Even with careful observation, an enemy can spawn within feet of you and screw a nice killstreak up.
