its amazing you bring that up,yet you had no issue with MS giving away Xboxes for buying laptop in the Us or cellphone in the UK.

Actually, phone companies have been offering "free gift" with your contract for about 4 years now, they beef up the price though if you add it, so it's not really free, and it ends up costing you about 1.5/2x more than the original price would have been if  you just went out and purchased it.
