It's not a view, my opinion has nothing to do with it. It's objectively a poorly told story. Whether it was a GOOD or WORTHWHILE story is subjective, but objectively it stumbled too many times and resorted to telling us what was happening instead of showing us. too much of the plot required scouring through datalogs, whereas in other FF games you could get a feel for the world just by talking to random passerby or through the plot. the narrative scope was so tiny that it failed as a storytelling device.
Plus it was contrived as hell.
The methods were flawed and only occasionally effective, not to mention chock full of inconsistencies. Whether you want to admit it or not, that's bad storytelling.
