Third party games have always sold well on Nintendo systems. I can think of hardly any outliers when looked at by the metric "you get out what you put in".

Very true. A lot of 3rd party games that have been put on Nintendo Consoles recently have not been the best work, at all. Certain games deserve the sales certain games do not.
