The 6th Generation was already being lead by the Sega Dreamcast before the PlayStation 2 was brought to the market and the 7th Generation(present) was already being lead by the Xbox 360 before the PlayStation 3 was brought to the market. PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita included.

eh... ps1 and saturn launched almost simultanously, ps2 was there before xbox and gamecube. the ps3 is the only thing that came late. and btw, the saturn didn't lead anything except price ;)
