Why not use MK that sold 30+M and say 60m Wii owners don’t care about Mario?
I still need to buy MK on Wii which means not everybody buys every game with Mario in the name so you could easily spread the different franchises over the 90m+

I said they only need Mario and all will be well not that they would sell 90m+

You don’t seriously believe that Wii sold 90m+ because of 3rd parties now do you? As dolphin said they don’t need them as the other two do

Why didn't Mario Kart sell 30 Million on the DS, Gamecube, N64, SNES, etc?

Mario Kart Wii has been bundled for a very long time now. Along with Wii Sports Resort? Why didn't Smash Bros. ever sell as well as it has on Wii? Why is Just Dance the only game that's been pushing the Wii over the last 2 Holiday seasons?

Wii Fit and Wii Sports sold more Wii's than Mario ever did.

The Wii certainly reached 90 Million because of 3rd parties. Not just Nintendo. Doesn't matter if you don't want to believe it. Without Just Dance the Wii would have been trounced over the last 2 Holiday seasons and would have been dead in the dust in 2011, Just Dance 2 kept it afloat throughout the Year and JD3 kept it competing in November/December. Without the countless party games released from 3rd parties, consumers would have got bored of the Wii long ago. Without the Wii Fit ripoffs, consumers would have got bored.

Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Kirby, Zelda, Metroid... None of them helped the N64 or GC compete against the 3rd party driven PS or PS2. There's a reason for that.

There's a reason why Call of Duty, the biggest videogame franchise in the World, sells 20 Million copies a Year. There's a reason why FIFA sells 10 Million copies a Year. There's a reason why NIntendo are begging 3rd parties to jump on with Wii U and 3DS...

3rd parties are also the reason why the PS3 and 360 have grown Yearly since release and why the Wii is seeing record Yearly drops.

Rol asked me a very important question once. What if, rather than releasing games like Skyward Sword, to my displeasure, but to their benefit, Nintendo decided to release a NSMBWii 2, or a DKCR 2, or more of the content that made the Wii a smashing success? More experiences like Wii-sports, full caliber. For example, a Wii sports boxing, pure boxing, fully featured. Not a mini-game? Fully advertised, top quality.

Possibly this might be a weak strategy, but we know that one of the main reasons the Wii plummetted in SW sales performance is because Nintendo didn't continue to support its console with 1st party titles, instead they chose to create AAA content like Skyward Sword and build up the potential for the next gen. Did they make the right decision or not, that's a question for another thread. But one thing is certain, you can't simply attribute Nintendo reaching 90M+ HW sales simply to 3rd parties, when Nintendo wasn't even in the game with its own evergreen SW to be considered a factor! Understand, you may not be right.
