I became a gamer during the early 90s, when I started to know what console gaming was. Before that I used to play a shit load of arcade games on a 386 PC bought while I was 8. Now I am 27 and still my passion continues to grow. There was the children's magazine around the time that had a column for gamers and they used to post details on all sorts of games and consoles/handhelds. The highlights were SNES and the 16 bit Sega mega drive sold in my region(Doha-ME) around the time. Sonic the hedgehog, MK II on the 16 Bit Sega really lured me onto console gaming. MK 2 barely ran on my 386. I would thus say the gamer in me was born from then on with an urge to get SEGA but I couldn't. I kept playing at my friends' all the time and kept updates of upcoming games and consoles. I won a PS1 in 97 for the month's best sketch posted on young editors' magazine issued by the then local daily. That catapulted everything in me to this level of gaming I am in today.
