Ask yourself why PS360 gets so much support, because they actually WORK with third parties, something that Ninty hasnt really done all gen. But 3DS looks like they are righting that ship. As for dev kits, read what they said. THey started development BEFORE it was even revealed. Not all devs got the dev kits, what were they supposed to do? YOu cant make a version out of thin air. Thats the only thing that bugs me about some of the NDF, this unfounded anti-Ninty conspiracy. No proof does anyone have that Eidos is against Ninty, they alread said that they didnt even know about the damn thing |
@bold. I'm really glad we agree. @italics. I want to know more about that. How can you be sure? And hasn't N changed that in prep for Wii U? By now Eidos should've been contacted afaik. Let me know if you have links about this. @dev-kits. I'm not saying they had them to start, but the Wii U is less than 12 months incoming. By the time of the interview (Jan 2012), dev kits should have been in. The future porting of a game does not require sdks to be there at time of inception.
To mention the unique capabilities of the Wii U within this context (late sdks, time of interview) is normally 0% relevant to the porting of a game, since the Wii U also supports standard controls. This means one of a few things:
1) They haven't put much thought into it.
2) Their business dictates that when they make or port a game for Wii U, they need to make use of its unique controls. This is a huge misconception that is probably due to poor 3rd party communication by Nintendo, or due to poor understanding of Nintendo's platform by 3rd parties.
3) They truly don't want to make games on Nintendo's platform, not even port one, especially not their flagships.
On the flipside, had they received 720 sdks within the final stages of a game, you can be sure they would have at least mentioned some kind of future port. I think our common understanding in @bold could well explain this. After so many years, and much money on Nintendo's part, it's sad to even think that. I for one want to know what is REALLY going on behind the scenes between Nintendo and 3rd parties...

Wasnt suggesting that you were one of those types, was just pointing out a scenario, because i know people who are like that and its sad. Sucks you had to wait so long to play SF4. But buying a console for one game, makes no sense either. I almost bought 360 several times. For Portal2, ME series, etc. I see and understand where you are coming from. Sega going away did suck, especially for me since I was so invested in them, but they made alot of dumb decisions that I look back on now and say, they had it coming IMHO. Saturn, 32x, silly infighting, Shenmue. etc. But I still love the games they make. Honestly the day Sega hardware died, is the day my loyalist side died. I respect that some people have that loyalist thing in them. |
Thanks for this.
