no body like the Wii name either and it sold more than any other Nintendo home console so why should they care what people think of the name now?
i like the name as it is though
they just need a commercial and in it they should say "from the makers of Wii, we bring you WiiU the next step in entertainment bla bla"
just make the console look different than Wii and there will be no confusion
