HARDWARE: Seems like VGC is overtracking a lot the Nintendo hardware... DS is the most critical case with NO units on shelves.

SOFTWARE: Seems like VGC is undertracing a lot the DS.

So it looks like the 3DS may have actually sold less than the PS3 in 2011.  Meaning PS3 could be #1 overall if our numbers are accurate for it.  DS looks to be overtracked by ~ 750K-1 million.  I'm starting to believe it won't be able to pass the PS2 afterall.  Will be interesting if the PS2 ships at least 2-2.5 million for the last quarter.
