I think their father had white hair too, cant remember a source for it though, something about that hidden costume for Dante in DMC3/Special Edition.

Anyways, this DMC is a reboot, so their re-telling the storyline (which can go bad in so many ways).

Just all the more reason to leave any assumptions behind.

Not really, because this new DMC being a reboot means there are two universes to the DMC series.

They can always go back to the old universe or make a new one altogether similar to what happened to the Tomb Raider series or the Megaman series.

Of course if they go back, all the old stories should hold instead. But in this new universe, I think everyone will have more fun if they go in with an open mind. Ninja Theory was asked to bring a new twist to DMC after all, not make DMC5.
