the gap has a lot to do with the market where the console is stronger... US has always bought more sw than europe or japan... that puts xbox with advantage since its the strongest in US... that and the head start (not the only reason but it sure helps)
for you to see what i mean... PS3 has a bigger (not much at all but bigger non the less) tie ratio on US than xbox! so region is the main issue here!
