Apps really? Websites and browsers are perfectly capable to be scaled to any device, no need for apps. I never use apps, Google all the time. Why use a restrictive app when you can have it all in one place. I don't use a phone though. Windows 8 fully loaded with apps? MS can't win the browser war so now they try to make them obsolete? lol. |
Browser still exists in Windows 8. It just makes more sense for how Windows is being designed.
WP7 or Windows 8 use tiles. Those tiles show info or latest artices without enterng the app. You can see just rom your start screen what new articles are on the app you use.
For example.
On my WP7 I have Giant Bomb app, WPCentral, The Weather Channel, Voucher Clouds, BBC News, Premier League +, f1 World Pro, YouTube Pro, Amazon Kindle, Deals 24 UK, Bing Maps, Thumba Photo Editor all of which update without the need to enter. I can understand if youve not seen the new Metro interface, but unlike Android or IOS you dont have to enter apps to know what the article is. The app tile on WP7 flips to show you te latest articles, which is what Windows 8 will do.
A browser doesnt tell me anything unless I use a search engine to find things.
The problem is I have an app for everything I want info on. Games, shopping deals, news, Live sport info, etc. And to be honest the apps are faster and more intuitive. It cuts out the crap and lets me get the content I want easier and faster.
I use a browser for VGC and Virgin Media bills for my broadband. Thats it.
Everything else like Facebook, Twittter, Xbox ive, Zune ( which I use all the tme ) is built into te metro OS. So I dont need an app for these as no app wil ever beat what MS has dne with its OS integration.
Really lookin forward to W8 tablet.
