I used to like Adventure Time, before it became a platform for shipping "PB+Marceline" and "we're so deep, Ice King is complex" nonsense.
And what's wrong with shipping PB and Marceline? Granted i'm a shameless Yuri fan, so i takes what i can gets
I liked the revelation that Ice King was a survivor of the Apocalypse and is thus a proper human like Finn, but that the only reason he's still around is because of his evil powers
For the matter of the thread at large, i enjoy the show from what i've seen. I don't get that many chances to watch it and i have better (re: Fairy Tail) things to watch online with my limited time
What bothers me the most is that the earlier episodes felt like innocent boy and his dog merriment and adventures. Now it just feels like the writers have gone into full fan service mode.
I can see where you're coming from. It seems like the writers have become self-aware, as it were, and that they are making the show more about the show rather than about random adventuring
