If they did, they would have never priced me out of their market. Seriously, from 1996 to 2004, I was a Sony gamer with the PS1 and PS2. At my most financially vulnerable time in my life, my college years, they released the PS3 with prices of $599.99 and $499.99 from PS3 launch until 2009. I was intrigued, but did the calculations. Why put down well over $300 when with that same amount of money I can finance several weekends of alcohol, illicit drugs, and still have enough left over to buy the latest PC game?

So a definite no. Sony does not love you for the unique individual you are. They love the money in your pocket and if you think you are getting something for free from them, then you must be really inept at managing your own finances

If Sony wanted our money so bad they would've launched an inferior PS3 at a lower price like the Wii and at every E3 since launch show tallies of how much money they've made hand over fist for half of their broadcast. They started out at a loss saving Blu Ray, which was new tech  we couldn't afford and gave  it to us at a below market value price. They were bleeding financially in the beginning but reaped the rewards later. I used to bitch and moan like everyone else, and trust me I didnt touch a PS3 until it reached $299, but once I got it and used Blu Rays, I stopped using DVD's, and got to enjoy the Library of games which I still haven't finished because of college. No company loves us for the individual we are. The question is who cares more for the gamer. The gamer. The only answer to that question is basically the company that ispumping out more games for its userbase and show it as a prime focus.
