Tingle is a matter of cultural misunderstanding. The Japanese seem to understand his appeal quite perfectly, and i never, ever understood the Waluigi hate. If Mario has the twisted counterpart, why not Luigi? What exactly is the problem with Waluigi?

The Pikmin i'd argue are quite good characters from a gameplay perspective. You're meant to empathize with them, from what i understand (the threat of the ticking clock turned me off of Pikmin 1 and i never got around to Pikmin 2), and like what Moreno said, you feel bad when you let them die, and this encourages the player to be more conservative. Similar to how Fire Emblem does it (guilting you over dead player characters) really, and it shows how art works to supplement gameplay

Don't feed the Malstrom, folks.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
