Definitely not.

First of all, this debate about the more powerful system is getting old, both systems had advantages and disadvantages. Sony did just a very good marketing job at selling this console and the Cell architecture as being so good. Too bad they failed in that area after that (marketing) compared to the 2 "others guys"

And then, Sony is like any other company, only thing they care about is to make money and the guys making the decisions does not even know what a video game is, thinking otherwise would be kind of foolish.

There are two ways I could make money.

I could get a job and earn it.

or..

I could buy a gun and rob people.

My point is, there are different ways to "care about money". A way that shows you want to KEEP making the money your making, and a way to get as much as you can quickly before everything falls apart.

My point is that they are not using different ways to make money :)
Xbox Live vs Playstation Network is not an argument at all. The offering is different and the cost of Xbox Live has been a 1000 times justified by a lot of people so no need to start another flamewar about that.

And to follow your two exemples, I'm sorry but I hardly see Microsoft being in the second category. If anything, I would see Sony there for different reasons too.

Oh but they are.

Sony is pouring money into game development. Sony's #1 income comes from the games.

That's not the case for MS. In fact, I'd say they make more straight profit from XBL than any other profit stream.

This. On Bonus Round they were talking about the fact that Microsoft would rather ride on third parties who make large profits and profit off of their sales than make games themselves. They spend big money to make exclusive COD ads and rake in the money from there. They propery support only the top franchises on their console which are like only three in Forza, Gears and Halo. Gears is gone unless Epic decides to make it again. Sony doesnt have these problems, wondering where there next game is going to come from, because they are actually making them and involving themselves in the process. They aren't running their gaming sector like a gaming company. At this point I am sure Microsoft doesn't care if gamers buy their consoles as long as it sells because games sure as hell arent the first on their list unless it is for Kinect.
