I like a more traditional plot, not into the new era style JRPGs like The World Ends With you and Persona. However I like both classic and traditional gameplay, it all depends on the quality of the story to me. e.g. Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger are my two favorite JRPGs. 1 is turn based, the other is active battle. I still like Tales of .... though, being action JRPG's.

I think I'll try Xenosaga, I have Episode 1 and 2, but greatest hits so I am going to try to get a nicer set to put on my wall lol.

All this because I bought a shelf from IKEA and now I can see all my games.

Ah, traditional plot wise, you'll see more of that in the PS1 collection:

Breath of Fire III
Breath of Fire IV

Star Ocean The Second Story - (despite it being futuristic, you'll be more than likely playing in a traditional mideval like world 80% of the game. If you loved Tales, you will love Star Ocean

Valkyrie Profile (Story is traditional though the gameplay is similar to in design as SMRPG, but somewhat more complex)

Edit: You should try out Star Ocean Till the End of Time as well

I think I will like Star Ocean, and I do like futuristic atmospheres, with classic gameplay. I'll likely get those titles too, but after I beat the current gen star ocean.

Isn't Valkyrie Profile a 2D JRPG?

Breath of Fire is in, I love 1 and 2 for SNES.

Valkyrie Profile's outside of battle gameplay is 2D dungeon scroller, the battle system is 2D but its turn based and not active.

Here's a video of it:

You input commands and do combo attacks and that in turn allows you to do some bonus attacks which can do alot of damage. You still have the choice of using items and stuff, along with that characters can be rotated and sacrificed and you can pretty much choose when to end the game in terms of storyline. The story is pretty good, all you do is you go out into the world finding people who are close to dying and deciding whether or not to help them and in turn make them join you or send them off to Ragnarok.

Wow, it looks a lot cooler then I thought. My type of game. Thanks. I'm actually going to the store now, I have Magna Carta 2, that alone should be enough to trade for Valkyrie Profile. Let's see how generous they are for trading, otherwise I'll have to sell my games on ebay and come back.
