So What? you want them to recognize what? SONY pushed the BD format thanks to the PS3! That s all!
There are now for sure many more BD players thanks to this video game system.
My cousin has a little home video / cinema shop but is a general retailer. And with his competitors he says the same: He doesnt sell much more BD players than HD-DVD players.
And I am not sure companies like Panasonic or Samsung would be happy to see the SONY corp. taking the lead in the market of HD players!
All in all, it s the same problem with UNIVERSAL and PARAMOUNT and the other movie producers, in direct competition with SONY Pictures.
It s now sure that SONY corp is taking a broad lead over the overall movie market, from the format standard to the production. And I don t think it s a good idea for consumers in term of prices, for the other movie producers and for sure the video player constructors... Therefore, we even can t say whether the BD can live for a long time!
