It's interesting to see the PSP vs DS hardware/software, especially in NA, where the PSP put up it's biggest fight, at least in the beginning. Any reason why you didn't put 2007 sales in there? That'd be a good year to look at for the current gen consoles, and also when the DS started to pull away from the PSP.
I just looked at 2007 Japan totals, and it's just scary how 80% (guess) of the games in the top 50 are DS games.
