I wonder what the Greeks of old would say about the current state of affairs now? There was no other state that loathed vassaldom or being conquered more and they were also the grandfathers of modern, Western democracy and are forced under the monetary whip of Western Europe.

Turkish; the Turks I know come here to set up a business and then go back home on vacation because its cheap and they make loads of money here. Why do they immigrate and go back home only for their vacations if the Turkish economy is so healthy and the job market so ripe? The 10% of your country that actually resides within European borders is even less significant than 100% of Greece as far as the rest of Europe is concerned. Due to industrialization and manufacture relocations, Slovenia and Slovakia have a lot more impact on European economy than Turkey or Greece.
