Am I reading this wrong, or is everyone else? When they say FROM November TO December, I'm thinking the month of November, not December. Notice it doesn't say through December. Could be wrong, of course.
Edit: Glad to see I'm not the only one.

the holiday season retail sales of PlayStation®3 (PS3®) computer entertainment systems during the five weeks following the last week of November 2009 exceeded 3.8 million units worldwide
They meant December, they just worded it wrong in the article.
VGC has PS3 at 3.77m, so if by 'retail sales' they mean sold to consumers, VGC is spot on.
|
So does that mean... Ps3 sales doesnt need to be adjusted at all?
|
No, no... I made a mistake, this is 2009... commented that above.
I still have no idea of what they mean by November to December.

why don't just go mcv...
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/sony-shifts-6-5m-playstation-consoles-over-christmas/089488
November 18th to December 31st
|
So MCV says Sony estimates 6.5m, and we have it at 4.6m for the same time period.
So, Sony has overshipped by 2m. How many were already on the shelves at that point, I wonder? 1? 2? It's usually around 2, so we're looking at say 3.5 million on shelves? Can someone clear this up for me?
|
The 6.5 million is for all PS consoles, so it includes the PS3, PS2, PSP, and Vita.
