This is a forum, there are meant to be debates. I didnt jump into this debate for no reason, i entered it to give my views and opinions, as you did. But you stated that you were saying facts, when most of you "facts" were in fact opinions. I entered the agument to dispute some of your points, as you are meant to do on forums.

 

Also, about the HD DVD, i did not say it was the sole reason... What i did say can be seen as a reason however; maybe not a significant one in terms of the PS3-hd dvd ratio, but i clearly stated in my post that it was a bad example, but an example neverthless.

well since ps3 is selling at a fast paste (what console do u no that started at 600 and did not die?) i think some people are willing to pay more u might not be one of them but i was.I gave you a link to prove my point where is yours? i still am watitng to see how a price drop on console will hurt them in the long run case i just dont see it. yes this is a forum but you bashed me not the other dude so ima do the same.

Because, it was an example :P lol. The use of HD DVD was to help prove a point i was trying to make. yes, many people believed Bluray was the superior format etc and bought it solely for that reason, but are you honestly telling me that you would not be put off by constant price cuts on a product? If you were wanting a certain game, and the price of it was cut multiple times in a short period of time would you not be concerned that said game was in fact rubbish? not worth your hard earned cash? that you should maybe spend your money on a safer buy? Why spend £20 on lair when you can spend £30 on Resistance? Are you honestly telling me that you would not be swayed? that you would be willing to fling cash around like there is no tomorrow? well, most consumers (the "average joe") does not have this luxury, and when doubt is in their mind they generally become cautious about their purchase, especially if its gonna set them back a couple hundred dollars...

Yes,some people are willing to pay extra for certain features, but i would say that the majority of people arent (to a certain degree). Ive explained this before. Some people want the extra features, some dont, and some dont give a shit about it.

And, the Ps2 cost 300 quid in the uk, which translates into around $600 (using current exchange rates). the PS3 also has the massive brand name behind it.  

 


no i dont buy stuff because it wack. in fact if lair came out  at 20 bucks i bet you it would of sold a lot more. in fact i work at gamestop and i often buy 10-20 games even tho they werent that great. that is a highly sold section in the gamestop company.

these are all games that sell and have LOTS of price drops. i used to change the price on games all day long. so i can honeslty say NO if i wanted something and the price dropped i would LOVE to ge it for a lower price so im sorry i do not agree.

i do see what you are saying but if i wasnt interested in something it would not matter how many times it dropped i would not get it. but people are interested in the ps3 thats a fact and more price dropps in this case are welcome.
