The golden era of this genre was played out on the PC in the early and mid 90's, and it's not coming back anytime soon. People would rather gaze at expensive graphics and fool around with gimmicky gameplay rather than have a sound story or a game founded on good old fun like the old ones did. Want a good time? Actually the adventure games are making a surprising comeback this year with tons of adventure games, some of them highly anticipated by gamers such as Sam & Max: S2, Gray Matter, A Vampyre Story, Overclocked, Experience 112, Sinking Island, Mata Hari, Jack Keane and Still Life 2.
