| Lucas-Rio said: Sony should not do the same mistakes. The PS3 was more powerful than the Xbox, but coming one year later and with third parties that made lazy ports, it did not show the difference. Sony has to release their console at the same time than Microsoft. |
Actually it was not developers making lazy ports, it was the fact that the PS3 took more time to get to par with the 360 that caused a lot of problems for Sony system. Gamers forget that time is money for a developer. Trying to get to grips with the PS3 arch and develop a game at the same time caused a lot of problems. This resulted in developers having to cut features, take shortcuts because the game needs to be released at a certain time. This was one of the big problems with Sony is that they created this sytem but did not have the tools and libraries needed to make developing gamers easier. MS on the other hand had the tools, libraries and was willing to send people to help with development issues for the 360.
Sony has since changed their attitude where they built the hardware and left the discovery to the developers. That type of thinking works when you are on top but when you are trying to compete with another system, you cannot have developers lagging in getting their port to work on your console.
