I really like the game, I think the reviewer scored it too low. I'd put it at 4 of 5 stars. I think he was more looking for a traditional point and click adventure, with a flowing story. Zack and Wiki is more a collection off point and click puzzle stages.
And I don't agree on the deaths. I haven't experienced any death that doesn't make any sence that I can think of. And I've collected all but 3 parts of Barbarosa so far. And the revive system works just fine in my opinion. And if you do restart a stage (which I always do, so I get to keep the money), none of them are that big that it'll take more than 3 minutes to get back to where you were.
The hint system I can't comment too much on, I've only used it once. But the one hint I got was helpful, but vague enough that I still felt some accomplishment in figuring it out. But I will say that you have to get a little awkward with the remote once in a while to get something to work.
