DOWN PERISCOPE: Sony to drop PS3 to 299$

I can't see the price coming down that quickly. Maybe a $50 price cut to match the one expected for the 360, but a $100 one seems a little too far fetched.  Has any other console ever come down $200 in price in what amounts to a little over a year?
