Ugh. Deathly Hallows part 1 was miles better than part 2. The entire battle sequence in part 2 was just wrong. They made unnecessary and often counter-productive changes when following the novel more closely would have worked better. The Harry/Voldemort battle was particularly bad, as was the disposal of the Elder Wand. Not to mention how Neville kills Nagini in the books was far superior to the movie's take on it. |
Heck, everything in the book is far superior to the movie's take on it.
And regarding the DH1 vs. DH2 part,I feel like the book should've been adapted in one single movie, because I was left with the impression that nothing really relevant happened in DH1,and that everything in DH2 was just too fast-paced.
The whole finale component made it feel like an unique&exciting but at the same time sad experience, and I guess that's what makes the movie stand out as the best for me.I agree that many directing decisions were uncalled for,but the feeling that you get from the movie makes you overlook them,at least in my case.
My opinion might change if I watch PoA again though,it's been ages since I've last seen it.
