If Sony drops the PS3's price Sony would take a major hit. The fact that they would have lowered the price for the third time in less then a year. Price drops do create interest in a product but it does by hurting the bottom line of the company. Sony stocks would drop about 10-15% if investors see the price of the PS3 drop again.
