The Director's Cut is the original with some stuff altered, poor audio and crappy sections controlling a character you never originally controlled and who isn't funny like the actual star of Broken Sword. It also has these blue rings appear near anything interactive, ruining a very major point of fun in the game in discovering/working out stuff yourself. You cannot turn them off.

You don't need to listen to him as you don't know the original version and wouldn't know the difference anyway. The Director's Cut (your version) is not bad at all, the additions are just a bit disappointing and redundant for many who know the original game. That's why I recommend to anyone who's interested in the game primarily the PC version on GOG.com as it contains the original version of the game as a bonus.
