This might be the standard next generation, since even the Wii U may get DVR functionality, given the Wii supports Netflix and they've already announced robust plans for apps and such with the Wii U.
I know the PS3 functions as a DVR with the PlayTV and Torne add-ons in Europe and Japan. It's a pity that feature never made it to the US.
