| mesoteto said: @DNo--how can you say the wii isnt setting the price bar--the only reason the others are droping right now is so they can try and catch the bar the wii has lowered---you said it yourself "if wii was 300 it still be selling." they could have easily released the system at that point but they chose to enter the market at 250--setting the bar for price plain and simple if the wii was not at 250 the 360 and PS3 would still be priced high and right now sony wil not catch up to the wii for gen winner---its a moot point withthe wii looking at a life cycle of 4-5 years and the ps3 clocking in around 8-10 there will proably be a new wii out and then ....gen over and on to the next gen |
i dont think microsoft and sony are trying to be lower then the wii.... i think they are trying to hit mass market price..... why because 400-600 is a lot of cash. i think sony is trying to get to 299 faster then 360 NOT wii. if sony was a price hore like nintendo then the psp would be 129.99. the ps2 would be 99.99 by now. wii did nuthin wrong in having a set price for this year sony and microsfot did so they are fighting... never once did sony say "we want to match the wiis price". they want the ps3 to be the HD console of choice.... does that mean if they could sell more then wii would they not be happy.. of course but the consoles are different and there is know way a suped up blu-ray and the strongest machine (console) in the world will be near the price of a console with 5-6 year old tech. and i know everyone on the planet would pay (if interested) a little more for a ps3 then they would for a wii. i no i have all systems in every war and i no if the wii was any more then 300 bucks i would not get it. but i bought my ps3 for 600 and so did many millions of others. most on this very site.....
