What do you mean by that? If the 3DS lost 100 dollars and the PS3 lost 100 dollars wouldn't that hurt both companies the same? Unless one was already making a huge profit before the cut?

That's the point one was, 3DS now is being sold at no profit apparently (in other words the price now is the cost to manufacture it) while PS3 was sold at a lost from the start and had further price cuts.
