I believe it is extremely ignorant of man to think that we are the only intelligent species in the universe, knowing how huge it is. It just makes no sense with only one inhabitable planet among the thousands opf trillions, and to think it does is sheer folly imo.
I think we have already mapped 3-4 planets in the near vicinity (nowhere close, only in astronomical terms... 
) that are very similar to earth.
