X360 in the last 15 months has had the launch of XBox 360 Slim, Kinect, Halo: Reach, Fable 3 (2010) Gears of War 3, Forza 4 (2011). Multiplats: Skyrim and Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 have sold a lot more on the X360 than the PS3.
In the last 15 months: PS3 has had the launch of PS Move, Gran Turismo 5 (2010). Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, Resistance 3, Infamous 2 and Uncharted 3 (2011). Despite PS3 having its best year to date and throwing the kitchen sink at the XBox 360 it has not came close to outselling the X360 in the Americas region. PS3 sales in the Asia/Pacific and European regions have more than made up for the lagging sales in the Americas regions.
XBox Live is as close as online console gaming can get to imitating the PC online gaming experience. XBox Live has a growing subscription base, around 1 in 2 XBox 360 owners pay for XBox Live Gold. PSN needs to catch up to the quality of XBox Live. Subscription fees may help Sony invest in developing and maintaining a worthy competitor to XBox Live.
