The'll never "win" N.A with PS3, it's impossible.
With PS4 they may have a small chance, but I still doubt it. To have a chance with PS4 they need:
- To release it before (unlikely) Nextbox or only 1-4 months after Nextbox (likely).
- A massive AD campaign
- Brilliant launch line-up with multiple system-sellers, I think this is likely, Uncharted, Gran turismo (more popular in EU/J but whatever), God of war, Next guerilla IP to name a few could all be launch titles or very close, + plenty of multiplats.
- As well as more marketing, BETTER marketing. Put focus on games and the fact that it's exclusive, describe what the console does and what it does that nextbox/wiiU can't, make it attractive.
- Similar price to Nextbox, within $50 range.
If they do all of this they have a chance.
If Microsoft fuck up they have a good chance.
