Its a tough one to be honest as could go either way.

I can't see PS3 having another price cut. That would be like 3 in 3 years or something. Where as i can see a 360 cut simply because it hasen't. However i think it will be more of a 360+kinect kinda cut instead of individually. If they get 360+Kinect down to around £140-£150 that will sell by the truck load.

However with the current financial climate getting worse i think that will have a knock on effect this year. So my guesses would be

PS3 - 12.5m
360 - 13m
Wii - 7.5m
Wii U - 2m
3DS - 20m
PSV - 7.5m - I really do think the Vita is going to struggle.

I think 2011 will be seen as the peak of this generation. Chances are at E3 MS will announce the new console which will mean the 360 gets its last xmas holiday. Where as with Sony it really is a hard one to call. As a company they are losing over $2m a day. They just released Vita and early indicators are sales are not as good, especially against 3DS. Would they risk announcing PS4 at that time? I can't see it. 2012 for Sony as a company will all be about trying to turn those heavy losses into some kind of profit. Either way it will be another interesting year.
On a side note nice to see my 2011 predictions were pretty acurate :)

3 in 4 years.

Well you get my point. Sony are probably making money now on each PS3 sold. If they cut again chances are they will go back to making a loss on them.

My PS3 prediction for last year in the prediction thread was 14.2m. Which looks set to be about right.  This year i expect everything to stay the same until E3.

Vita will be the main focus for 2012 in regards to the gaming side for Sony. The fact it has a better line up (comercially) for 2012 then the PS3 (that we know of) shows that. If the numbers are bad then they will have no choice but to follow the 3DS lead and cut straight away. If they do that then I can't see the PS3 also getting a price cut. I doubt they would want both their products running at a loss.

Vita has a better line up than the PS3? How so o.O

Uncharted

Silent Hill Memories

Ninja Gaiden plus

Disgaea Absence of Detention

Rayman Origins

Dynasty Warriors Next

Blazblue: Continuum Shift EXTEND

That Square Enix game Army of Hell or something like that.

Wipeout

and this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6upMOyHRBTI ;)

Where as PS3 has a pretty weak 2012 line up thus far. Many of them won't even make it i.e Agent/Last Guardian etc

Other then Twisted Metal the rest won't be big sellers at all.
